Thunder Policy
We have had some questions about the Cardinal Hill policy on closing for thunder, we wanted to share this information here. It is also available on our website. When the pool closes for thunder, it will be tweeted @CardinalHillSR and shown on our front page.
“In the event of lightning or thunder, swimming and diving will be suspended for a period of 30 minutes following the last lightning bolt or thunder clap. Patrons must clear the pool deck but can remain in the locker room areas only. After the appropriate 30-minute time period has elapsed, the pool managers on duty will reopen the pool deck to patrons. The pool will remain closed for an additional 15 minutes while the lifeguards and managers prepare the pool for reentry. No swimming or diving will commence until the lifeguards have resumed their chair and deck positions and the pool managers have determined conditions to be safe and have authorized reentry of swimmers to the pool.”
Social Events
You can find details and registration for all of these events on our Social Page. You can also follow us on twitter @chsrcsocial.
Double the fun on August 25th! The Cardboard Boat Race has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 25th from 2:00-4:00. There’s still time to build a boat and enter the race for cash prizes. And since you will be there racing or watching anyway, sign up for the “Everyone and Their Mother” Cornhole Tournament that will follow the races at 4:00. Any Cardinal Hill member and his or her mother, grandmother, guardian, or child can register as a team (one team member must be a mom, grandmother, guardian or aunt). The tournament event is free, prizes will be awarded for the winning team, the best dressed team and the best trick shot and winning team members’ names will be proudly displayed on the tournament trophy at the front desk. Register online through our Social page by Friday, August 23rd.
The Cardinal Hill swim team is raffling off customized walnut stained wood cornhole boards. This fundraiser is part of the swim team’s Splash-a-Thon benefiting the Joey Pizzano Memorial Fund. These boards are custom made by our own swim team alumnus, Matt Hoyt, and include a personalized vinyl custom initial decal on each board. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. Raffle tickets can be purchased at home swim meets, at any Cardinal Hill social event or email rsvpchsrc@gmail.com with “Raffle” in the subject line and we can arrange a purchase and pick up date. Winning ticket selected at the Crab Fest on Saturday, September 7th (winner need not be present to win)
